A board-certified and fellowship-trained maternal-fetal medicine specialist, Dr. Burnett is the Chief of Maternal and Fetal Medicine and Program Director of Ultrasound and Prenatal Diagnosis at UF Health Women’s Specialists – Jacksonville.

The team of physicians at UF Health Women’s Specialists-Jacksonville offer a full range of obstetrics and gynecology services, including prenatal care, delivery, post-delivery care, well-woman care, treatment for chronic pelvic pain, pap smear abnormalities, menopausal issues, menstrual abnormalities, and more.

With a broad educational background, Dr. Burnett earned her medical degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in 2007. She then went on to complete her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville in 2011, and her fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), the doctor is board-certified in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Passionate about teaching, she serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Maternal and Fetal Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville.

Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) is a subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology that focuses on managing health concerns of the mother and fetus prior to, during, and shortly after pregnancy. MFMs are physicians who subspecialize in high risk pregnancies, taking care of pregnant women with chronic health problems or known fetal complications during their pregnancy. MFM specialists work to keep maternal-fetal dyads as healthy as possible during the pregnancy. They also care for women who face unexpected problems that develop during pregnancy such as early labor, bleeding or high blood pressure.

As a testament to her success, Dr. Burnett has been the recipient of the Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2018, 2017, 2016), Patients’ Choice Award (2018, 2017), and On-Time Doctor Award (2018, 2017). She has also received the Golden Apple teaching award yearly since 2014, which is presented by the UF College of Medicine, and she was named an Exemplary Teacher the past 7 years by the UF Jax College of Medicine.
