Can a sinus infection go away on its own?
Yes. Many sinus infections go away on their own. That is why as a rule a doctor does not prescribe antibiotics until the signs and symptoms of a sinus infection have been present for some time. But some people can develop chronic sinus infections which can persist for very long periods of time (even years). READ MORE
Can you pass out from a nosebleed?
There are 2 ways you could possibly pass out from a nose bleed. One could experience a vasovagal reaction where blood pressure drops. This could happen for a lot of reasons. The others which would be rare is loss of consciousness could occur from heavy blood loss from a posterior arterial nose bleed. P Flexon MD, FACS READ MORE
Gagging?
Gagging may have many causes. The specific reason you gag from only yogurt is puzzling. In general people who spontaneously gag excessively have silent redux or laryngeal-pharyngeal reflux which causes the throat to be chronically irritates (that would not be specific to yogurt). One simple explanation is that while yogurt is healthy at some level you simply do not like its flavor or texture. If you are otherwise completely healthy just avoid eating yogurt. Swollen neck?
This may be a number of possible problems. The most likely cause of this is chronic recurrent infection/inflammation of your submandibular salivary glands caused by recurring salivary stone formation, which intermittently blocks the saliva flow from the glands. When the glands become blocked, they swell and become infected until the stone passes or is removed by a surgeon. Surrounding lymph nodes also can swell. You need to be seen by an ENT and evaluated and treated. It is likely you will be given antibiotics, and imaging tests will be ordered. It is possible at some point in the future it may be recommended you have the gland or both glands removed. P. Flexon, MD READ MORE
