Get to know Ophthalmologist Dr. Matthew Dombrow, who serves patients throughout the State of Connecticut. 

Dr. Dombrow, a board-certified ophthalmologist, is dedicated to serving patients with superior care at Connecticut Retina Consultants with locations in New Haven, Hamden, and Madison, Connecticut. Offering years of experience with a notable track record of excellent service, he receives rave reviews from his patients for his level of expertise and how he cares for them before, during, and after procedures.

Established in 1990, Connecticut Retina Consultants is the leading and most accomplished ophthalmology practice in Connecticut, serving patients at locations in New Haven, Hamden, Madison, Trumbull, and Fairfield, Connecticut. An expert in his field with an interest in recurrent and complex retinal detachment repair, Dr. Dombrow treats patients for diabetic retinopathy, dry eyes, floaters and flashes, macular degeneration, macular pucker, retinal detachment, retinal tears, retinal holes, scleral buckling, uveitis, vitrectomy, and more. He also performs vitreoretinal surgery at ambulatory facilities in Hamden and Trumbull, retains hospital privileges at Yale New Haven Hospital and Bridgeport Hospital, as well as serves as a Clinical Instructor at the Yale University School of Medicine.

In order to stay up to date in his field, the doctor remains a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, the Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians, and the American Medical Association. 

A graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Dombrow went on to complete his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. To further expand his education and knowledge, he completed a medical and surgical vitreoretinal fellowship at Yale University in New Haven. 

Following his training, he became board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, which is an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America. 

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. They may provide routine care such as vision testing, as well as prescribe and fit eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, ophthalmologists are also surgeons. They repair traumatic injuries to the eye and perform cataract, glaucoma, and corneal surgery.
