Get to know Hospitalist Dr. Ronald Alan Tung Li, who serves patients in Farmington, New Mexico.

A highly trained hospitalist, Dr. Li is in practice at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, New Mexico.

San Juan Regional Medical Center is a community owned and operated hospital located in the beautiful San Juan River Valley in northwest New Mexico. A non-profit hospital serving the Four Corners area of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah, we have a rich heritage dating back to before New Mexico was a state. A native of the Philippines, Dr. Li graduated with his medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas in 2003. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2009.

Dedicated to clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Hospital medicine is a medical specialty that exists in some countries as a branch of internal or family medicine, dealing with the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. The primary focus is caring for hospitalized patients and co-management with other specialties. Hospitalists take an active part in medical care and ensure a safe discharge for the patients they take care of. They are being increasingly involved in administrative roles, given their expertise and collaboration with various teams in the hospital.
