A passionate interventional cardiologist, Dr. Fenske is affiliated with Ascension Medical Group, offering his services at Ascension Wisconsin SE Hospital Elmbrook Campus, Ascension Wisconsin SE Franklin Campus, Ascension Wisconsin St. Francis Hospital, Ascension Wisconsin SE St. Joseph Campus, and Midwest Orthopedic Specialty Hospital Wisconsin. 

He provides acute and chronic general and preventive cardiology care as well as cardiac and peripheral vascular intervention to adults. He also has a special interest in interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular disease.

Academically, Dr. Fenske holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in internal medicine at the same educational venue, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Furthermore, he is board-certified in vascular medicine through the American Board of Vascular Medicine, and in nuclear cardiology through the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology.

Interventional cardiology is a branch of cardiology that deals specifically with the catheter-based treatment of structural heart diseases. An interventional cardiologist specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions and diseases of the heart and blood vessels using nonsurgical, catheter-based procedures and specialized imaging techniques.
