Get to know Nephrologist Dr. Irfan Fazil, who serves patients in Yuma, Arizona.

Dr. Fazil is a practicing nephrologist who serves as the Founder & CEO of Bio Family Clinic, a multispecialty medical clinic located in Yuma, Arizona. With a great interest in the treatment of obesity and kidney diseases, his team consists of experienced weight loss counselors, nurse practitioners, and a dedicated weight loss team. They offer medical care in Yuma County from Foothills to San Luis, specializing in family medicine and internal medicine. 

Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Fazil earned his medical degree from Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in nephrology at the same educational venue. 

With an unwavering commitment to his specialty, the doctor is an Associate of the Board of Directors of the American Board of Nephrology, an Associate Member of the Diplomat Certification Committee, as well as a Fellow of the American College of Nephrology.

In addition, he is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), passing with the highest score possible on a nationwide basis. The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys. It is the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. Nephrologists have advanced training in treating kidney disease. They diagnose and treat kidney failure, as well as help patients by prescribing medications, offering special diet advice, and coordinating dialysis care when the time comes.
