A committed hospitalist, Dr. Verplanke is the Section Chief of Hospital Medicine and Medical Director of Unit 17 East at Tisch Hospital in New York, and serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. In his current positions at NYU, he leads by example, embodying the institution’s commitment to excellence and patient-centered care.
“I have the honor of serving as the Section Chief of Hospital Medicine at the Tisch/Kimmel campus as well as the medical director of the 17 East floor in Tisch,” says Dr. Verplanke. “In these roles, I facilitate the world-class care that NYU delivers to its patients in a patient-centered approach that encompasses Safety, Quality, Patient Experience, and Efficiency.”
Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Verplanke received his medical degree from the SUNY – University at Buffalo in 2014, and completed his residency in internal medicine at the Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center in 2017.
A Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the Society of Hospital Medicine, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to upholding the highest standards of medical care, recognizes his commitment to excellence and his ongoing efforts to provide superior healthcare services to his patients.
