He then went on to perform his residency in family medicine at St. Francis Hospital in 2011, his fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at Jamaica Hospital in 2012, and his fellowship in geriatric medicine at the New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens in 2014. 

Following his training, he attained board certification in family medicine, geriatric medicine & hospice and palliative medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

In his professional experience, Dr. Platis is affiliated with North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Hospice Care Network.
