With a broad educational background, he received dual undergraduate degrees in Biochemistry and Chemistry from Rutgers University, and earned his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and his fellowship in vascular surgery at the University of Maryland.
