Get to know Internist Dr. Roman Prosniak, who serves patients in Springfield, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Prosniak is a board-certified internist, who is affiliated with Patient First Springfield Urgent Care in Springfield, Pennsylvania. Since the opening of the first medical center in 1981, Patient First’s vision remains focused on making access to quality medical care as convenient and cost-effective as possible. To achieve this objective, the team of professionals working there have adopted and continue to embrace many innovative operating systems and practices. 

Professionally, Dr. Prosniak is affiliated with several hospitals in the area, including Temple University Hospital, Crozer-Chester Medical Center, and Jeanes Hospital. He began as a Fellow of the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This Division sponsors basic and clinical research in allergy and asthma, critical care, sarcoidosis, sleep medicine, cystic fibrosis, among other related areas. He has now transferred to Temple University, where he is currently practicing. 

In regards to his academic career, Dr. Prosniak earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in the Caribbean. Thereafter, he went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Before long, Dr. Prosniak became board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They are skilled in the management of patients who have undifferentiated or multi-system disease processes. In addition, they care for hospitalized and ambulatory patients and may play a major role in teaching and research.

On a more personal note, Dr. Prosniak is fluent in English and Russian.
