  • My son plays a lot of video games. I'm concerned for his eyes--should I be?

    There is some research that it is not necessarily good. It causes accommodation and it is linked to nearsightedness in people using their eyes for near tasks at all times. Kids should be running outdoors and playing not constantly reading books or being inside on video games. This allows the eyes to develop for distance normally. Also the Blue light content has not been well studied but is somewhat alarming. These wavelengths of light may not be healthy for the lens and the macula. READ MORE

    Typically diabetics need to be examined immediately at diagnosis and then yearly if they are type 2. Your mother likely has some swelling of her retins or something less worrisome like a cataract. She needs to be examined by an M.D. who has retina training. READ MORE
