Get to know Pediatrician Dr. James Gordon Kantor, who serves patients in the state of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Kantor is a board-certified pediatrician who is currently serving patients at Tri-County Pediatrics in the state of Pennsylvania. With 6 conveniently located offices in Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, Tri-County Pediatrics specializes in pediatric medicine for a child’s physical, emotional, and developmental health.He has a special interest in training the health care providers of the future,and has mentored over 2000 medical, nurse practitioner and physician assistant students in his  career. He has won several awards for teaching medical students, physician assistant students, and nurse practitioner. 

Dr. Kantor is also affiliated with Abington Hospital – Jefferson Health in Abington, Pennsylvania. Abington Hospital – Jefferson Health is a 665-bed, regional referral center and teaching hospital, which has been providing comprehensive, high-quality services for people in Montgomery, Bucks and Philadelphia counties for more than 100 years. The Hospital employs over 5,500 employees, making it one of the largest employers in Montgomery County. 

Dr. Kantor is a graduate of Abington High School in 1967. Dr. Kantor earned his undergraduate degree from George Washington University in 1971. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine, Des Moines University in 1975. After graduation, he completed his residency in pediatrics at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Dr. Kantor is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics (AOBP) and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. The AOBP is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases in infants, children, and adolescents.

Pediatric care encompasses a broad spectrum of health services ranging from preventive health care to the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases. Pediatricians, like Dr. Kantor, are concerned with the physical, emotional, and social health of children from birth to young adulthood. They understand that children are not simply small adults, but they change rapidly and they must be approached with an appreciation for their stage of physical and mental development.

Dr. Kantor choose the field of pediatrics as he appreciates the opportunity to impact a child’s life right from the beginning. Dr. Kantor’s favorite band is The Who and his favorite movies are Rudy and Rocky. He has two grown children and lives in Montgomery County with his wonderful wife and two little dogs.
