Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Anika Z. Chowhan, who serves patients in Manassas, Virginia.

Dr. Chowhan has been a pediatrician for over two decades. She works at Premier Pediatrics of Manassas in Virginia.

Originally from Northern California, Dr. Chowhan attended U.C Berkley, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Cell Biology. She then attended Baylor College of Medicine, graduating with her medical degree in 1996. She completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at Texas Children’s Hospital, and an additional residency in pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine. There, she worked as a Clinical Professor of Neonatology and Emergency Medicine, after which she relocated to Northern Virginia. 

A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, she is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Licensed to practice medicine in Virginia, Dr. Chowhan holds privileges at UVA Prince William Medical Center, Inova Fairfax Hospital, and Inova Fair Oaks Hospital.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.

The recipient of many awards and honors, Dr. Chowhan has won the On-Time Doctor Award (2018, 2016, 2015, 2014), Compassionate Doctor Recognition – 5 Year Honoree (2015), Patients’ Choice Award (2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2018, 2017, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011), and Patients’ Choice 5th Anniversary Award (2018, 2017, 2016, 2015).

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two children, listening to music, building Legos, and making slime.
