Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Kenneth A. Thompson, who serves patients in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Dr. Thompson is a respected obstetrician-gynecologist offering comprehensive care for the reproductive system in women across two specialties: obstetrics and gynecology. He sees patients at CMC Women’s Health – Carolina Forest in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Providing obstetrics and gynecology healthcare services for patients, CMC Women’s Health – Carolina Forest is committed to providing an atmosphere of compassion, understanding, and respect. Prior to his current endeavours, Dr. Thompson served as the Owner & Chief of Staff at Iroquois OB/GYN in Watseka, Illinois from May of 2000 until July of 2006. He then practiced as an obstetrician-gynecologist at Palmetto OB/GYN in Cheraw, South Carolina from August of 2006 until October of 2010. 

With a focus on women’s health issues, he is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Following the completion of his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1993, Dr. Thompson went on to complete his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the same educational venue. He published an article on myomectomy surgery in 1997.

With nearly three decades of experience in his field, he is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada. 

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics and gynecology. An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health.
