Get to know Internist and Gastroenterologist Dr. Sudhir K. Dutta, who serves patients in Baltimore, Maryland.

Being a board-certified internist and gastroenterologist, Dr. Dutta’s focus is on treating patients with pancreaticobiliary disorders and nutritional disorders. At present, he serves as the Director of the Division of Gastroenterology at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Alongside his clinical role, he is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Coming from a family of doctors, Dr. Dutta earned his medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, India in 1970. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his internship in internal medicine at Wayne State University. He was a resident at Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia and received fellowship training at the University of Maryland. He also completed a research sabbatical in cellular and molecular biology at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases at the National Institutes of Health.

A Master of the American College of Gastroenterology (MACG) and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Happily married, he and his wife have two sons.
