Dr. Moya is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist who specializes in anterior cruciate ligament, meniscus or articular cartilage knee surgery, and complex shoulder rotator cuff or labral tear arthroscopic surgery. He serves as the Director of Joint Surgery at Sports Medicine Associates of South Florida with offices in Weston, Pembroke Pines, and Plantation, Florida.

Caring for our patients is the number one priority at Sports Medicine Associates of South Florida. Our highly trained physicians, physical therapists, and staff provide patients with the latest medical technology and surgical procedures. Throughout his academic career, Dr. Moya completed his postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University, receiving his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.) He completed his orthopedic training at the University of Puerto Rico and holds both a master’s degree and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Pharmacology from The Massachusetts College of Pharmacology.
Performing to a level of excellence, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
Currently serving as the team physician for the Pembroke Pines Charter High School and Archbishop McCarthy High School, Dr. Moya is actively involved in community seminars and educational programs designed to help people understand joint pain and sports injuries.
He performs his arthroscopic joint surgeries at the Weston Outpatient Surgical Center and is also affiliated with Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation, Florida, and Memorial Hospitals in Pembroke Pines and Miramar, Florida
Among his professional affiliations, he is an active member of the American Medical Association, the Broward County Medical Association, the Florida Medical Association, the Florida Orthopedic Society/Bones Society of Florida, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (Fellow), and American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons.
