Educated in India, Dr. Raju graduated with his medical degree from M S Ramaiah Medical College in 2005. After relocating to the United States, he went on to perform his residency in family medicine at Sparrow/MSU, his residency in internal medicine at Michigan State University, his fellowships in cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology at Michigan State University, and a fellowship in vascular medicine at Cleveland Clinic.
Dedicated to clinical excellence, he is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Furthermore, he is board-certified in nuclear cardiology through the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, as well as in vascular medicine and endovascular medicine through the American Board of Vascular Medicine.He is also board certified hypertension specialist through American Society of Hypertension.
Achieving professional competence, Dr. Raju is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI), and a Fellow of the Society of Vascular Medicine (FSVM). He is also a member of the American Society of Hypertension, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and the American Heart Association.
As a clinical investigator, he has focused his research studies on optimizing the diagnosis and management of patients with coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disorders. His research has been well received at national and international scientific research meetings, and awarded “Best Research Presentation” in the basic science category.
He is also the principal investigator in clinical trials conducted at Oregon Heart and vascular institute including Target BP 1 and Safe STEMI trials.
Dr Raju shares great passion in training future doctors and leads the cardiology preceptorship program at OHVI, mentoring medical students from Oregon Health & Science University and University of Washington.
