Dr. Esmaili grew up in Iran and immigrated to the United States when she was 20 years old to join her family and pursue her dream of becoming a Doctor. Dr. Esmaili is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2009. She graduated top in her class focusing on her academic accomplishments, oral cancer research, and earned the designation of Magna cum Laude. She completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Biology from Metropolitan State College of Denver…a real homegrown dentist! She has completed numerous advanced education courses and her clinical experience has prepared her well for high-end dental restorative practice. Her focus is comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of TMJ and Occlusal issues, relation between craniofacial growth and airway and connection between mouth and the rest of the body.   • How long will a tooth hurt after being hit?

    It depends on how the tooth was hurt. If it is fractured either the crown (which is the part of the tooth that is inside the mouth) or the root, which is the part in the bone. If the pain is consistent for more than an hour, you need to see a dentist to take an X-ray. READ MORE

  • How do I fix the gap between my teeth?

    It depends on what you desire and where the gap is. If your teeth are skinny and have gaps, you can have them filled with either composite or veneers. If they have gaps because of malocclusion, you can look into braces. But if it is because of bone loss, you might need grafting with gum tissue in combination with again either porcelain or composite (tooth colored fillings). Sometimes a combination of these may be needed. It all depends on your budget and desire outcome and what is actually possible. Hope this helps. READ MORE

  • Can bonded teeth be whitened?

    Unfortunately, no, when teeth are bonded with either porcelain or composite (tooth colored filling), those material cannot be whitened. Porcelain don't change color over time, so if you have, then a certain color and teeth adjacent to that have changed color you can whiten those teeth without porcelain to match it. But not the porcelain itself. Composite do change color overtime and absorb stain, but cannot be whitened either. Hope this helps. READ MORE

  • Waiting on root canal after deep filling?

    Without seeing your X-ray, it is difficult to say. Based on the symptoms you described, you may have suffered from stretch stress on your TMJ which can cause shooting pain in ear (it is called referred pain). I recommend using hot and cold compress for 5 minute alternatively few times a day and avoid hard food. Advil (unless your allergic) is always best choice for analgesic. As for the tooth infection, if there is no swelling or pain if you press the tooth with your finger, it is not likely that it is infected, but needs to be checked. These are signs of infected tooth: spontaneous, lingering pain that does not go away for hours. If you have difficulty opening your mouth, you need to report that right away as it can become systemic quick. Hope this helps. READ MORE

  • Can you get two cavities on one tooth?

    Yes, you can. Cavities can happen on different surfaces of teeth, and cavities can reoccur if the cause of the original cavity is not addressed. Among those are lack of good oral hygiene, and a sugary diet. READ MORE

    It depends on the size of the cavity. If it is near the pulp and has symptoms, I would not. But if it's small and not half way through the dentist, you may have some time. READ MORE

    Why is the tooth loose? If it's because of periodontal disease, then you may want to see a specialist to treat the infection. Periodontal disease is a systemic condition that can lead to other medical conditions including stroke and cardiovascular disease and can negatively impact diabetes. READ MORE

  • How long after tooth filling can I drink?

    You can drink right away. I would not recommend chewing till your numbness goes away. Be aware that sensitivity to cold is normal within 48 hours, so avoid cold beverages for a day or two. Hope this helps. READ MORE

    We have composite or tooth colored material that are cured with a blue light. There are some that still use silver filling, but not very many dentists use them. READ MORE

  • Deep filling?

    Nerve removal is the same as root canal. it is a procedure done to remove dead or infected nerve that causes lingering pain. to determine if you truly need root canal there is special test the dentist can do. if you are not having pain that is spontaneous and/or last for hours and is sore to touch most likely your filling is high or that your bite needs to be adjusted. also if you are not having cold and hot sensitivity mostly like you won't need root canal.
