Bringing Extensive Experience in General Surgery to Las Vegas Surgical Associates

An esteemed general surgeon, Dr. Schroer works with patients at Las Vegas Surgical Associates, providing exceptional surgical care to the Las Vegas, Nevada community.

With a strong educational background, he obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology from California State University, Fresno, before pursuing his passion for medicine. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, and completed his general surgery residency at Saint Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan.

During his residency, Dr. Schroer honed his skills in a wide range of general surgery procedures, showcasing his expertise in surgeries involving the thyroid and parathyroid, breast, stomach, gallbladder, small intestine, colon, and rectum. He has a particular interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery, including procedures on the colon, abdominal hernias, hiatal hernias, and paraesophageal hernias.

Additionally, he is proficient in laparoscopic peritoneal dialysis catheters, tunneled catheters for hemodialysis and chemotherapy, and surgeries for skin and soft tissue tumors.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Dr. Schroer’s dedication to serving others is evident through his volunteer work and mission experiences. Fluent in Spanish after serving a mission in Ecuador for two years, he has a passion for providing care to diverse communities. During his undergraduate years, he volunteered as a medical assistant and interpreter at a free clinic in Fresno, showcasing his commitment to making healthcare accessible to all.

When asked about the key to his success, he attributes it to the guidance of his mentors who played a crucial role in shaping his career. His humility and willingness to learn from experienced professionals have undoubtedly contributed to his growth as a skilled surgeon.
