Get to know Internist Dr. Stuart Hartman, who serves patients in California.

Dr. Hartman is an osteopathic physician specializing in internal medicine. He works as a hospitalist physician at Zion and San Diego Medical Centers, both of which are a part of Kaiser Permanente and conveniently located in San Diego, California.

“I believe in a holistic approach to medicine, where all of the body systems are interconnected and must be treated together for healing to occur.”

Originally from a small town in Pennsylvania just outside of Hershey, where they make Hershey’s chocolate, Dr. Hartman graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then went on to perform both his internship and residency in internal medicine at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Board certified in internal medicine, the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). The AOBIM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults (internists).

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

Happily married, Dr. Hartman and his wife have 2 American Staffordshire Terriers and are advocates for adopting and fostering pets.

In his leisure time, Dr. Hartman enjoys cooking and grilling at home, as well as trying to run at least 4 times a week, as he believes it is important to stay active and eat healthy. He also finds pleasure in discovering the beauty of San Diego and exploring the captivating landscapes of California.
