Get to know Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Anna Hertsberg, who serves patients throughout the State of Illinois.

An Illinois-based interventional cardiologist, Dr. Hertsberg is affiliated with Advocate Heart Institute, serving patients in the Park Ridge and Morton Grove areas. Her clinical interests include atherectomy, cardiac catheterization, chronic total occlusions, complex coronary chronic total occlusions, EKG – Electrocardiogram, familial hypercholesterolemia, pacemaker maintenance, stent procedure (for Angioplasty), and stress echocardiogram.

In regards to her educational background, she graduated with her medical degree from the Riga Medical Institute in Latvia. Upon relocating to the United States, she completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Grant Hospital, and her fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Michael Reese Hospital & Medical Center.

In pursuit of clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).

Speaking multiple languages, Dr. Hertsberg is fluent in English, Russian, and Latvian.
