Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Bruce E. Lockman, who serves the population of Pennsylvania. Dr. Lockman completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland in 1972, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Wanting to further his education he then graduated with his Medical Degree from the University of Maryland School Of Medicine in 1976, giving him over four decades of experience in his field. There he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the National Medical Honor Society, in his Junior Year. He also received the Mosby Scholarship Award which was given to the top 5 students in the graduating class; The Louis, Ida, and Samuel Cohen Award for Scholarship, Ability, and Compassion for Patients; and The Leonard M. Hummel Award for Excellence in Internal Medicine. Dr. Lockman is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. After obtaining his medical Degree he completed his Pediatrics residency with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. After completing his training he founded the private practice Erdenheim Pediatrics followed by Lockman & Lubell Pediatric Associates. He is also affiliated with Abington Hospital – Jefferson Health. Pediatrics is the branch of medicine dealing with the health and medical care of infants, children, and adolescents from birth up to the age of 18. A paediatrician is a children’s physician who provides medical care to children who are acutely or chronically ill, as well as preventive health services to healthy children.
