Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Jim John, who serves patients throughout the State of Georgia.

A board-certified cardiologist, Dr. John is affiliated with Cardiovascular Group, seeing patients in the Lawrenceville, Duluth, and Grayson areas. He is highly respected and a valued part of the medical community, as he offers compassion, commitment, cardiac expertise, and a commitment to patient service and satisfaction.

His areas of clinical expertise include interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiac imaging, and cardiac catheterization. He also provides general cardiac care for patients pre and post operatively, as well as healthy heart maintenance.

Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. John earned his medical degree from the University of Wales College of Medicine in Cardiff, Wales. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He also attained a Master of Public Health degree (MPH) from the Harvard School of Public Health.

An expert in his field, the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).

Recognized as a Regional Top Doctor by Castle Connolly Magazine, Dr. John has been the recipient of the Top Doctor Award by Atlanta Magazine (2020, 2021).
