Originally educated in India, Dr. Kothapalli obtained his Medical Degree from Andhra Medical College in 1983. He then pursued further training in the United States, completing his residency in internal medicine with Cook County Health and Hospitals System from 1986 to 1990. Subsequently, he undertook fellowships in cardiovascular disease at The MetroHealth System/Case Western Reserve University from 1990 to 1991 and in interventional cardiology with the Albert Einstein Healthcare Network from 1991 to 1992.

As a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Kothapalli holds board certifications in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology.
