Get to know Internist Dr. Ramy Ibrahim, who serves patients in The Villages, Florida.

A well-versed internist, Dr. Ibrahim is the Global Medical Director of Premier Medical Associates, accepting patients in The Villages – Santa Barbara Blvd. location and the Lake Sumter Landing location. He follows his patients as a primary care provider in the office, in hospitals and rehab. 

Currently, he is currently leading two studies: (1) Relation of uterine fibroids to sudden death in middle aged/elderly female population and (2) Abnormal clotting and deep venous thrombosis with special emphasis on May Thurner Syndrome aka Iliac Vein Compression Syndrome.

The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from Ain Shams University, Faculty of Medicine in Egypt in 2001. After relocating to the United States, he completed a surgery internship and medical residency at Brookdale University Hospital.

Subsequent to his education, Dr. Ibrahim attained board certification through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Practicing medicine in Florida, he is affiliated with St. Mary Coptic Church-Oviedo Charity and Medical Center, UF Health The Villages Hospital, and UF Health Leesburg Hospital.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. He is a published author of multiple research articles, including Triad of Iron Deficiency Anemia, Severe Thrombocytopenia and Menorrhagia, as well as Paget Schroetter Syndrome.
