- Giovanna
She seems nice enough at first, but then when she was taking my history, she lapsed into being very judgy. Furthermore, when she told me I had a mass on my uterus, which is no joke, her communication of next steps were very poor. She spoke like a flying typewriter. I asked her to speak at a more normal rate and she did for about 2 minutes, then went back in to rapid fire. Worse so, in a phone call later, she even said "I never said you had a mass on your uterus" which utterly pissed me off. I mean, do I have one or don't I? SHe speaks SO FAST its hard to understand what the hell she is even saying. Since I was not comfortable with her communication style, as a result, I was never 100% clear on surgery/biopsy/diagnosis. I moved on to another gyno who handled my case perfectly, did my surgery, removed the mass and gave me options I felt great about. It was night and day from Dr Mendiola. I will never go back to Cristina. I tried to let her know I didn't like the way she was speaking to me but it didn't seem to make much of a difference. I demand clear, nonjudgemental health care from my gyno and anything less is unacceptable. As women, we are all trained from childhood to take what we get and not say anything, its important to be your own best advocate at all times. In short, I did not trust this MD to go inside of me with tools and do anything to my organs.
