As a general pediatrician, Dr. Reidy thoroughly enjoys spending time with children and partnering with their families to help those children thrive. She is the Founder of Schoolhouse Pediatrics in Austin, Texas.
Offering a full range of pediatric services, she and her entire team at Schoolhouse Pediatrics work closely together to deliver the best care possible to every child. They believe that raising a child is a rewarding—as well as a challenging—experience for a parent, which is why their goal is to help parents enjoy this experience and to ensure that a child’s full potential is reached. They believe that healthy children are the result of healthy families and communities.
Originally from the northern suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Reidy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and graduated with Distinction from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. She attended the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University for her medical degree and completed her residency in pediatrics at James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
As a Junior Faculty member at the Children’s Hospital, she split her time for a year between caring for special needs children and staffing the local county urgent care clinic. After residency, she spent 8 years in private practice in the Chicago area before moving to Austin in 1998.
Following 9 more years of private practice in the Austin area, Dr. Reidy opened Schoolhouse Pediatrics in 2007 to care for the children and families of the Westlake community. Her skills and compassion quickly extended beyond Austin to include kids throughout Central Texas.
Licensed to practice medicine in Texas, she is affiliated with Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin, St. David’s Medical Center, Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital, Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas, and Dell Children’s Medical Center.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, she is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.
Proud to have repeatedly been named an Austin Monthly Top Doctor by her peers, Dr. Reidy has advised, mentored, and taught countless students pursuing careers in medicine. She serves on the Affiliate Faculty within the Department of Pediatrics at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School.
Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.
On a more personal note, Dr. Reidy is very fond of playing tennis, listening to Austin music, line dancing, gardening, and hiking the Greenbelt.
