Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Curt F. Fenkl, who serves patients in New York.

A top professional in his field, Dr. Fenkl has extensive training and professional development in all areas of medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. He is in practice with Southern Tier Dermatology, seeing patients at the offices in Elmira, Endwell, and Utica, New York.

Giving a comprehensive and personal approach to dermatology, he also specializes in vascular lasers, including treatment of children for birthmarks and hemangiomas, along with using the latest advances in medical lasers to ensure the best results for damaged skin.

Upon embarking on his medical journey, Dr. Fenkl earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997. 

Dedicated to improving the health of the skin, he is board-certified through the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology (AOBD). The AOBD is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the skin.

Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, the largest organ of the body; a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. A dermatologist is a specialist doctor who manages skin diseases and deals with both internal and external causes and some cosmetic concerns involving the skin. Dermatological duties include taking consultations, providing screening tests, and undertaking non-invasive surgical procedures.
