During his time in medical school, he received a Reader’s Digest Award and worked as a medical missionary in Kenya, Africa.
He did his residency in general surgery at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas, and later worked with Careflight Rescue Helicopter for one year as an emergency room physician. He also worked as a medical missionary in Nigeria before returning to the Department of Urology at the University of Oklahoma where he finished his residency training in urological surgery in 1986.
Among his professional affiliations, Dr. Graves is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.
Licensed to practice medicine in Texas and Oklahoma, the doctor is board-certified in urology by the American Board of Urology (ABU). The mission of the ABU is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, and working with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, and ethical urologic care.
Published in the Journal of Urology, Dr. Graves serves on the International Health Care Board and has worked as a medical missionary in Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, and India.
