Get to know Nephrologist Dr. Joginder S. Jodhka, who serves patients in Fountain Valley, California.

Dr. Jodhka is a practicing nephrologist with Pacific Renal Care Medical Corp in Fountain Valley, California. In practice since 1994, he is also affiliated with several hospitals and medical centers in the local area, including Hoag Hospital, Orange Coast Medical Center, MemorialCare Medical Group, Greater Newport Physicians, Huntington Beach Hospital, and Foothill Regional Medical Center.

A 1980 graduate of Government Medical College in India, Dr. Jodhka relocated to the United States to further his training. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Harbor Hospital Center, followed by his fellowship in nephrology at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center.

In addition to being a member of the MemorialCare Physician Society and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the doctor is board-certified in nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, which is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys. It is the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. Nephrologists have advanced training in treating kidney disease. They diagnose and treat kidney failure, as well as help patients by prescribing medications, offering special diet advice, and coordinating dialysis care when the time comes.
