In India, Dr. Bhaskar obtained his medical degree from the University College of Medical Sciences in 1991. He performed his internship at the same educational venue, followed by residencies at Safdarjung Hospital and Moolchand K.R. Hospital. After relocating to the United States, he performed his residency in internal medicine at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, and his fellowship in gastroenterology at the Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida.

Subsequent to his education, he attained board certification in gastroenterology and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. A gastroenterologist is a physician who has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system.

On a more personal note, Dr. Bhaskar speaks English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Creoles and Pidgins – French-based (professional working proficiency).
