He then went on to perform his internship at the University of Southern California/LAC+USC Medical Center from 1968 to 1969, after which he pursued his residency in internal medicine at the same institution from 1969 to 1970.
During his rotations, Dr. Gelman realized his love for internal medicine. The idea of replacing a failing organ, the kidney in particular, was something that fascinated him. He went on to complete his fellowship at Harvard Medical School and at Massachusetts General Hospital from 1973 to 1975.
With extensive experience under his belt, the doctor is board certified in both internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
In addition to seeing patients at his private practice, Dr. Gelman serves as an Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine and can be found on staff at Milford Regional Medical Center.
