Get to know Nuclear Medicine Specialist Dr. Ebrahim S. Delpassand, who serves patients in Houston, Texas.

A seasoned nuclear medicine specialist, Dr. Delpassand is the Founder and Medical Director of the Excel Diagnostics & Nuclear Oncology Center. He specializes in therapeutic nuclear medicine, Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT), monoclonal antibody imaging, and positron emission tomography (PET).

Excel Diagnostics & Nuclear Oncology Center is the leading diagnostic imaging and therapeutic facility in Houston, Texas. Ebrahim Delpassand, MD, the practice’s founder and medical director, and the imaging specialists use the latest generation of imaging equipment to identify cancer, osteoporosis, and other acute and chronic health conditions.

Academically, Dr. Delpassand earned his medical degree and completed his clerkship at the Tehran University School of Medicine in 1977 and 1981, respectively. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed the Executive Excellence Program Postgraduate Continuing Education at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, specializing in nuclear medicine.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Nuclear Medicine (FACNM), the doctor is board-certified in nuclear medicine by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine, which certifies physicians as specialists in the practice of nuclear medicine.

On a professional level, he is an active member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine, the Oncology Council of Society of Nuclear Medicine, the American Medical Association, the Iranian-American Medical Association, the European Association of Nuclear Medicine, the American Association of Nuclear Cardiology, the Association of University Radiologists, the American College of Radiology, the International Society for Clinical Densitometry, the American Medical Informatics Association, and the American College of Physician Executives.

In addition to his clinical role, Dr. Delpassand serves as a Professor in the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine. 

Nuclear medicine is a medical specialty involving the application of radioactive substances in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Nuclear medicine physicians are medical specialists who use tracers, usually radiopharmaceuticals, for diagnosis and therapy.
