An established cardiologist, Dr. Alkotob is the Founder of Advanced Cardiovascular Clinic in Flushing, Michigan. His clinical interests include cardiac catheterization & stenting, transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear stress testing, endovenous ablations, and peripheral vascular disease.

Advanced Cardiovascular Clinic opened in 2009 and continues to expand to offer more for their patients. Most of their employees have been with the practice since the beginning. Their goal is to make patients as comfortable as possible as they strive to keep them with a healthy heart.

A native of Syria, Dr. Alkotob earned his medical degree from the University of Damascus Faculty of Medicine in 1996. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic (Ohio). Subsequently, he successfully completed dual fellowships, one in interventional cardiology/peripheral vascular interventions at the Boston University Medical Center, and a second one in cardiovascular disease at the University of Connecticut.

Following her training, the doctor attained board certification in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Maintaining fellowship status, he is a Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI), and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC).

In his professional experience, Dr. Alkotob is affiliated with the Hurley Medical Center, serving as the Cardiac Cath Lab Director. Prior to this, he served as Chief of Cardiology at the same venue.

As for his academic appointments, he maintains his position as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Michigan State University.
