In regards to his educational background, Dr. Hwang graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Connecticut. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2013.
Furthering his training, he performed his residency in general surgery at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, serving as chief resident in 2018. He followed this up with a clinical fellowship in vascular surgery at West Virginia University in 2020.
Before long, Dr. Hwang became board-certified in general vascular surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS). The AOBS is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the use of surgery to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Gaining a critical edge in promoting public safety in vascular interpretation ultrasound, Dr. Hwang is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) through The Alliance for Physician Certification & Advancement.
