Dr. Lyon is an established family physician who practices the full scope of family medicine at UCHealth A.F. Williams Family Medicine – Central Park in Denver, Colorado. He enjoys women’s health, pediatrics, obstetrics, newborn care, and preventative care.
“I believe the body will always tend toward health and it is our job to help patients move in that direction. We can achieve this by treating the whole person, focusing on preventative care, and supporting the patient to help them achieve their healthiest potential” according to the doctor’s care philosophy.
Alongside his clinical role, he serves as an Associate Professor & Associate Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs within the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He also serves as the Associate Program Director of the University of Colorado Family Medicine Residency Program.
Following the completion of his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2000, Dr. Lyon decided to further his training. He completed his internship and residency in family medicine at Naval Hospital Jacksonville in Florida in 2001 and 2004, respectively. This was followed by a fellowship with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2009.
In addition to being a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP) and a member of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, Dr. Lyon is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Physicians (ABFM). The ABFM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified family physicians who specialize in delivering comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, genders.
Licensed to practice medicine in Colorado, he has provided national presentations on clinic practice transformation, family medicine residency education, and scholarship in medicine.

When he is not working with residents or taking care of his patients, he enjoys golfing with his father, spending time with his wife and three beautiful girls, as well as watching his daughters’ dance.
