After relocating to the United States, she completed an internal medicine residency at SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn (1982 – 1985), followed by two ophthalmology residencies at Catholic Medical Centers of Brooklyn and Queens (1985 – 1987) and SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn (1987 – 1989).
Subsequent to her training, Dr. D’Ambrosio acquired board certification in ophthalmology from the American Board of Ophthalmology. The American Board of Ophthalmology is an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America. Founded in 1916, the ABO was the first American Board established to certify medical specialists.
