Get to know Medical Cannabis Physician & Family Physician Dr. Matthew A. Brimberry, who serves patients throughout the State of Texas.

Dr. Brimberry is a board-certified family physician & one of the first certified doctors in Texas to provide access to medical cannabis for conditions related to palliative medicine. He is the Medical Director for the Texas Cannabis Clinic, a telehealth only practice serving patients in and around Austin, Houston, Arlington, and the entire state of Texas through telemedicine.

Under the guidance of Dr. Brimberry, the skilled medical marijuana clinicians at Texas Cannabis Clinic are dedicated to providing alternative healing methods to patients of all ages through Texas; Compassionate Use Program. Their expertise lies in efficiently guiding individuals through the certification process, ensuring eligibility based on qualifying diagnoses, and formulating personalized medical marijuana treatment plans. Furthermore, they facilitate seamless connections with State licensed Texas dispensaries.

With a focus on compassion and care, the team specializes in designing effective treatments to alleviate symptoms associated with conditions such as autism, multiple sclerosis, muscle spasms, PTSD, and seizures. They also possess profound knowledge in utilizing medical marijuana to address spasticity and neuropathy, effectively assisting patients experiencing chronic pain. 

At Texas Cannabis Clinic, every clinician is certified with the ASA’s CCC to help patients and their caregivers, and medical professionals better understand the endocannabinoid system and cannabis therapeutics.

Setting a solid educational foundation for his medical career, Dr. Brimberry graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Arkansas in 2005. He then went on to earn his medical degree from UT Health San Antonio in 2009, after which he performed his residency in family medicine at John Peter Smith Hospital, where he honed his skills and expertise from 2009 to 2012.

Board-certified in family medicine, Dr. Brimberry is a Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and a board-certified Hospice Medical Director. 

For years, he has helped patients navigate the symptoms of terminal cancer, ALS, muscle spasticity, and other severe life-limiting diseases. In 2019, he was one of the first physicians to be certified by the state of Texas to provide access to medicinal cannabis for conditions related to palliative medicine. 

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor.
