A fellowship-trained vascular surgeon, Dr. Methodius-Rayford works alongside Dr. James M. Poindexter Jr. at Georgia Vascular Specialists, PC in Atlanta.
Founded in 1989, Georgia Vascular Specialists, PC is dedicated to providing patients with excellent, state-of-the art, compassionate vascular care. Services include modern, minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of arterial, venous and lymphatic conditions.
The doctor duo are experts in traditional vascular surgery as well, and offer comprehensive care including an on-site, fully accredited diagnostic vascular ultrasound laboratory, a comprehensive ambulatory wound care service, state-of-the-art treatments for venous disorders, and in-patient care at two of Atlanta’s most respected hospitals, Piedmont Hospital and Atlanta Medical Center.
Throughout her academic career, Dr. Methodius-Rayford received her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. She then obtained her Master of Science degree in Medical Science from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, before completing her medical degree at the same institution.
She served as a surgical resident then chief resident at Atlanta Medical Center in Georgia, where she also completed her fellowship training in vascular surgery. After joining Georgia Vascular Specialists, PC in 2011, Dr. Methodius-Rayford became a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).
In 2014, she became a certified diplomat to the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. In addition to training in hyperbaric medicine, Dr. Methodius-Rayford is a Certified Wound Specialist Physician (CWSP), a member of an elite group of healthcare professionals involved in wound management.
Holding membership in a range of professional organizations, Dr. Methodius-Rayford is an active member of the Society of Vascular Surgery, the Atlanta Medical Association, the Peripheral Vascular Society, the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, the Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Society, and the American Venous Forum.
In addition, she is the Founder of Women in Surgery, a society committed to fostering support and assuagement amongst peers in medicine.
Vascular surgery is a surgical subspecialty in which diseases of the vascular system, including the arteries, veins, and lymphatic circulation, are managed by medical therapy, minimally-invasive catheter procedures, and surgical reconstruction.
