In regards to his educational background, he earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 1984. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the same institution in 1987, followed by a fellowship in nephrology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1989. His educational background laid a strong foundation for his career in nephrology, where he has become recognized for his commitment to advancing patient care.
