Throughout his career, Dr. Swann has been published in several ophthalmic journals and has given lectures on advances in ophthalmology at ASCRS and Caribbean Eye. In addition, he has authored a chapter that is currently in publication on femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery. When he is not working, Dr. Swann enjoys spending his free time staying active outdoors, sailing, skiing, scuba diving, hunting, as well as taking medical mission trips to Mexico.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Swann completed his Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree at Tulane University in 2006, followed by his Master of Science degree in Pharmacology at the Tulane University School of Medicine in 2007. He was a first year medical student at Tulane University School of Medicine when his father was originally diagnosed with cancer. His own journey in medical training caused him to fall as deeply in love with ophthalmology as his father, earning him his medical degree in 2013.
After completing his residency in ophthalmology at the Tulane University School of Medicine, he chose to pursue additional specialty training and earned an esteemed fellowship in refractive eye surgery and cornea with Robert Weinstock, MD and Neel Desai, MD at the Eye Institute of West Florida. His training and expertise now offers advanced technology for safer, and more accurate superior surgical outcomes.
A member of the Texas Medical Association, the doctor is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). The mission of the ABO is to serve the public by improving the quality of ophthalmic practice through a process of certification and Maintenance of Certification that fosters excellence and encourages continual learning.
