Get to know Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility Specialist Dr. Meaghan Bowling, who serves patients in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Described as friendly and compassionate, Dr. Bowling is a highly trained reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist. She joined Carolina Conceptions in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2017.

Her clinical interests include in vitro fertilization, preimplantation genetic screening, oocyte cryopreservation, male infertility, polycystic ovarian syndrome, ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination, and minimally invasive surgery. 

With years of experience, Dr. Bowling finds nothing more rewarding than the chance to help patients who are affected by infertility. She understands the emotional stress involved and is dedicated to supporting patients through their journey to conception. She is committed to individualizing care, and working together as a team to help each patient build their family. 

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Bowling pursued undergraduate study at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she graduated with highest distinction with a Bachelor of Science in biology. She attended medical school at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. 

Furthering her education, she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology as well as her fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Upon completion of her fellowship, she joined the faculty of Emory University as an Assistant Professor and served as the In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Director of the Emory Reproductive Center.  

As a testament to her success, Dr. Bowling is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology & reproductive endocrinology and infertility by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada.

In direct affiliation with her industry, she is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (Fellow), the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the Society for Gynecologic Investigation, and the Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

An authority in her field, Dr. Bowling has published articles in both basic science and clinical medicine peer reviewed journals, including Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has presented her research on estrogen receptors at national meetings, including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Society for Gynecologic Investigation. She has also appeared on CNN to discuss issues related to reproductive technology.

Reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) is a surgical subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology that trains physicians in reproductive medicine addressing hormonal functioning as it pertains to the reproduction, as well as the issue of infertility. While most REI specialists primarily focus on the treatment of infertility, reproductive endocrinologists are trained to also evaluate and treat hormonal dysfunctions in females and males outside after the reproductive years.

Nominated by her peers as a Top Doc in North Carolina for 2020, Dr. Bowling was named a “Mom-Approved Doc” in Atlanta Parent magazine. She has also received the Society for Laparoscopic Surgeons Achievement Award, as well as multiple awards for Research and Excellence in Teaching.
