A prominent figure in the field of behavioral optometry, Dr. Kruger works with patients at her private practice – Vision Transformation Inc. – in Lakewood, Colorado. 

Graduating from the Pacific University College of Optometry in 1989, her approach prioritizes measurable improvements in comfort and performance, ensuring that every intervention contributes to an overall trend of enhancement.

Reflecting on her treatment philosophy, Dr. Kruger emphasizes the importance of continuous improvement and the interconnectedness of biology, physiology, and behavior. She believes in harnessing the power of vision to influence the brain positively, facilitating visual training and rehabilitation to address discomfort and dysfunction effectively.

With a dedication to enhancing the connection between vision and learning, she has made significant contributions through her private practice and various roles within the optometric community, including her role as the Director of Vision Training at the Colorado Optometric Center, which she held for five years. Her passion for understanding the relationship between vision and learning led her to pioneer in-school vision programs, conduct school screenings, consult with Special Education teams, and volunteer as a tutor for young readers. 

Furthermore, her commitment to promoting a multidisciplinary approach to addressing learning challenges was further evident during her tenure as the President of the Vision & Learning Forum, a non-profit organization dedicated to solving learning problems through collaboration.

Dr. Kruger’s commitment to serving diverse communities is exemplified through her volunteer work with Lions in Sight, where she provides visual examinations and glasses to underprivileged communities in Mexico, Bolivia, and Kenya, Africa. Her dedication to holistic care is evident in her certification in classical homeopathy, which she integrates into her private optometric practice, offering patients a comprehensive approach to vision health.

Recognized for her outstanding contributions, she was honored as the Colorado Optometrist of the Year in 2001 and received the prestigious A.M. Skeffington Award for Excellence in Visual Therapy in 1989. Her expertise in vision development has been acknowledged by her fellowship in the College of Optometrists, further solidifying her reputation as a leader in the field.

Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Kruger has shared her knowledge as an adjunct professor at esteemed institutions such as Pacific University College of Optometry, Illinois College of Optometry, and University of Houston College of Optometry. Her influence extends to the legal realm, where she has served as an expert witness in court trials and as an independent evaluator for patients and insurance companies in dispute cases.
