Meet esteemed double board certified Dr. Christopher Schmidt, a plastic surgeon specializing in reconstructive, craniofacial trauma and more.

With a wealth of knowledge and board certification in Otolaryngology as well as Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Schmidt is one of the most sought after physicians in his field. He has been with at Ocala Ear, Nose and Throat since 2009.

Ocala Ear, Nose and Throat Ocala ENT was founded in 1981 and is the only practice in Marion County that provides the full range of services associated with Otolaryngology, including surgical and medical treatment of the ears, nose, and throat, nasal allergy, hearing and balance testing and treatment. They also have a full Aesthetics practice, offering a line of cosmetic solutions from top quality products to cutting edge procedures in facial plastics and cosmetics.

Dr. Schmidt’s offers a full range of services including Botox, fillers, laser resurfacing, and skin rejuvenation.  He also performs rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and rhytidectomy (facelifts), lip augmentation and otoplasty (ear pinning).

He has a special interest in skin cancer and works with local dermatologists to rebuild MOHs surgery defects after skin cancer resection. He reconstructs facial, scalp and neck post skin cancer, including squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma [BCCs], merkel cell carcinomas, and other more rare types of skin cancers.

Dr. Schmidt earned his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and post-graduate work was completed at Georgetown University.   He attended Albany Medical College, one of the oldest medical schools in the nation. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology at The State University of New York Upstate Medical University (SUNY Upstate), a health sciences university located in Syracuse NY. He has a special interest in facial plastic surgery and completed a fellowship in that sub-specialty at the Garcia Facial Plastics Surgery Institute in Jacksonville, Florida.

Dr. Schmidt serves as an expert in craniofacial trauma and reconstructive surgery at AdventHealth Ocala, Ocala Regional Medical Center and West Marion Community Hospital

He is a fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery,  and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. He is a member of the American Rhinologic Society, and a member of AOCMF, an internationally recognized craniomaxillofacial multidisciplinary trauma organization that provides ongoing research and education regarding facial bone and soft tissue trauma.

Recipient of numerous awards and accolades, Dr. Schmidt has been recognized as a Top Doctor, and received a Healthgrades Honor Roll award.
