David N. Buchalter, MD, is a skilled orthopedic surgeon who diagnoses and treats patients at South Palm Orthopedics in Delray Beach and Palm Beach County, Florida. As an orthopedic surgeon, he specializes in total hip replacement, direct anterior hip replacement, computer-assisted surgery, total knee replacement, partial knee replacement, and minimally invasive surgery. Having performed over 3,000 total hip and total knee replacements, Dr. Buchalter is one of the few surgeons performing less invasive hip and knee replacement surgeries, allowing for a small three to four inch incision, less pain, and faster recovery time. As such, he is one of the only surgeons doing outpatient hip and knee replacement, including Bikini incision anterior pathway hip replacement. He performs the direct anterior approach for total hip replacement using the Hana Table at both Delray Medical Center and Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Dr. Buchalter is licensed to practice in the states of Florida and New Jersey and has been practicing in South Florida for the past thirty years. Prior to his current endeavors, he served as Chief of Surgery and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Delray Medical Center, where he chaired numerous hospital-based committees. He spent time studying throughout Europe and was involved in some of the early research on cartilage transplant and cartilage regeneration procedures. Dr. Buchalter is considered an expert in hip and knee reconstructive surgery and is experienced in hip fractures, knee arthroscopy, hip joint arthroplasty, hip and knee traumatology, and knee reconstruction.

- Constantly working on improving my clinical skills and attending conferences in order to stay up to date on clinical and technical skills. It\'s important to constantly grow and learn. As a board-certified orthopedic surgeon by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS), Dr. Buchalter is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in medical practice.
