Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Troy Robbin Hailparn, who serves patients in San Antonio, Texas.
Internationally renowned in the field of cosmetic gynecology, Dr. Hailparn is the Owner and Medical Director of the Cosmetic Gynecology Center of San Antonio (formerly the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute™ of San Antonio).
She is an experienced, skilled female vaginoplasty and labiaplasty doctor with advanced education in vaginal rejuvenation and LVR™ (Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation™), in addition to advanced training in ThermiVA™, labiaplasty (labia reduction), hymenoplasty, platelet-rich plasma (The O Shot™), and other cosmetic gynecology procedures.
One of the first female board-certified obstetrician-gynecologists in the United States taught by the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute, Dr. Hailparn has performed over 3000 vaginal rejuvenation and nearly 900 labiaplasty procedures and has over 22 years of vaginal surgery experience. Doctors from the United States and around the world come to her to receive education and training in these cosmetic gynecology procedures.
Practicing gynecology without obstetrics for the last decade has allowed her the benefit of more time per patient and a more focused approach. She always takes into account the whole person, not just a body part when a patient presents to her for evaluation of a problem or concern.
The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after she earned her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. She received additional education with Dr. Marco Pelosi in gynecologic liposculpturing procedures. She also pursued advanced cosmetic-plastic gynecology training with Dr. Adam Ostrzenski in the newest vaginal rejuvenation, labia minora reduction (labiaplasty with edge-preserving technique), labia majora reduction and clitoral hood reduction and reconstruction techniques.
Since 2003, in addition to offering routine medical and surgical gynecology services, Dr. Hailparn has focused on cosmetic gynecology and is certified by the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute™ in Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation™, Laser Reduction Labiaplasty™, and Hymenoplasty.
A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, she is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).
With an international reputation as an expert in the field of cosmetic gynecology, Dr. Hailparn was part of the first-ever scientific session on cosmetic-plastic gynecology at the world’s most reputable ob/gyn meeting, the XX FIGO World Congress, in Rome, Italy, in 2012, where cosmetic-gynecology was finally recognized as a part of gynecology.
In 2011, she was an invited speaker at three major world congresses. Her speaker appearances at the 14th and 15th meetings of the World Congress on Controversies in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Infertility (COGI) in Paris, France and Hainan, China respectively were a historic event, marking the first times cosmetic gynecology was included at a major international scientific meeting.
In 2015, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists asked Dr. Hailparn to write the first ever labiaplasty e-module to educate other physicians about labiaplasty. This followed her presentation of data on labiaplasty in 2009 and 2014 at the ACOG annual clinical meetings.
She has also published abstracts on cosmetic gynecology in medical journals, as well as has written articles for specialty health publications.
Appearing on major television programs on CNN, Discovery Health, Telemundo and Univision, Dr. Hailparn has been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, “D” Magazine (Dallas), The Times of London, Agence France Presse, and other major publications. Most recently, she did a TEDx talk on the physical changes a woman goes through in her lifetime.
