Dr. Roozrokh is a board-certified general surgeon practicing in the Bay Area since 2003. His practice includes complex general surgical oncology, general surgery, transplant surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, pancreatic surgery, and complex laparoscopic or robotic surgery.
With offices in Los Gatos and Burlingame, Dr. Roozrokh offers access to world class interventions such as laparoscopic liver and pancreas surgery, radiofrequency ablation of liver tumors, laparoscopic colorectal surgery with emphasis on very low coloanal anastomosis, and laparoscopic esophagectomy.
He operates out of the following facilities: Good Samaritan Hospital, El Camino Hospital- Mountain View/Los Gatos, Seton Hospital, and Samaritan Surgery Center.
Having developed a thriving practice in the heart of Silicon Valley, Dr. Roozrokh has been the surgeon for prominent CEOs, local, national, and international politicians, and high net worth individuals alike.

Born in Tehran, Iran in 1973, Dr. Roozrokh immigrated to the United States in 1975 at the age of 2. He ultimately spent his childhood in Dallas, Texas until age 11. He obtained US Citizenship while living in Texas. His family then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he attended high school, college, and medical school.
At the age of 17, he was accepted to medical school. He graduated from a combined undergraduate/ medical school program called Target MD. He finished undergraduate/ medical school in 7 years. While in undergraduate studies, he was an Academic All American Athlete, Division I scholarship swimmer, and won numerous academic and athletic awards. He was also an avid researcher and collaborated with NASA to develop high strength polymers and lens technology ultimately used in the Hubble Telescope.
While in medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Roozrokh participated in complex immunological and orthopedic research leading to multiple publications and national presentations.
After medical school, he completed his training in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, he had the opportunity to work with famed transplant surgeon, Dr. Thomas Starzl. From there, his pursuit for transplantation and liver surgery developed.
At the world renowned Stanford University, Dr. Roozrokh completed his transplant training. While there, he led research protocols that translated to direct patient care and presentations at national conferences. Upon completion of his transplant fellowship, he was the youngest certified transplant surgeon in the United States at the age of 29.
After his time at Stanford, Dr. Roozrokh was offered to start the first managed care transplant program in the United States in San Francisco, California. After 5 years, he was offered a leadership position in transplantation at the Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Due to familial obligations, Dr. Roozrokh returned to the Bay Area in 2011 where he has focused on developing a private practice focusing on complex general surgical oncology, hepatobiliary surgery, pancreas surgery, and laparoscopic/ robotic surgery.
Offering state-of-the-art surgical services, he is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. A general surgeon performs a wide range of abdominal surgeries for many forms of intestinal and abdominal wall neoplasms, gallbladder disease, gastric and pancreatic disease. They follow the patient through critical care and surgical recovery all the way to outpatient care.
Successful in his field, Dr. Roozrokh has authored many peer reviewed publications and book chapters throughout his career. His various accolades include Patients’ Choice Award (2016, 2015, 2014, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2008), On-Time Doctor Award (2016), and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2016, 2014, 2012).
