Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Vernon R. Wilson, who serves patients in Torrance, California.

Dr. Wilson is a board-certified dermatologist who blends his expertise in innovative, state-of-the-art dermatologic skin care with personalized attention to his patients. He is the owner & operator of Dermatology Treatment Center of the South Bay in Torrance, California.

His patients are pleased beyond their expectations with their results and appreciate his warmth, sensitivity, and understanding of their needs. He will consult with each patient and discuss all of their options, helping them choose the procedure that will improve their confidence, their image, and possibly their life.

A physician of distinction, Dr. Wilson serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of the Dermatology Division of UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.  

Licensed to practice medicine in California, he is affiliated with Torrance Memorial Medical Center and Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance.

A 1982 graduate of the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine, Dr. Wilson went on to perform his internship at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital in 1983. This was followed by a residency in dermatology at Lac-King-Drew Medical Center in 1989.

Maintaining the health and beauty of skin, the doctor is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.

Currently, Dr. Wilson is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the National Medical Association, and the Los Angeles County Medical Society. He served as president of the Los Angeles Metropolitan Dermatological Society from 2006 to 2007.  

Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, the largest organ of the body; a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. A dermatologist is a specialist doctor who manages skin diseases and deals with both internal and external causes and some cosmetic concerns involving the skin. Dermatological duties include taking consultations, providing screening tests, and undertaking non-invasive surgical procedures.

The recipient of numerous commendations for his dedicated service, Dr. Wilson has been awarded Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014) and Patients’ Choice Award (2014, 2016).
