Susan E. Kohn is board certified in pediatrics and has been with the Sleepy Hollow Pediatrics office of Capital Area Pediatrics since 1989.

Dr. Kohn’s received her medical training from the Medical College of Virginia, where she completed her pediatric residency in 1987 and graduated from Medical School in 1984. She also received her undergraduate degree in Russian Studies from the University of Virginia in 1980.

Her interests include behavioral concerns such as ADD and common developmental issues, and she enjoys caring for premature infants and foreign adoptees. She has served as a consultant/editor of Preemie magazine and has served on the Fairfax County Healthy Advisory Board for Head Start.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine dealing with the health and medical care of infants, children, and adolescents from birth up to the age of 18. A pediatrician is a child’s physician who provides medical care to children who are acutely or chronically ill, as well as preventive health services to healthy children. They manage the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the children under their care at every stage of development, in both sickness and health.

Dr. Kohn lives with her husband, daughter, two dogs and a rabbit. Her son is attending college. They are very involved with their synagogue, where Dr. Kohn teaches the youth choir and plays piano. She also helps out with the marching band at Woodson High School.
