It difficult to assess from the photo but it appears to be normal protein exudate which forms as it is healing. It will take months for the wound to heal. You should be applying topical antibiotic such as Mupirocin. In the future another option for non melanoma skin cancer is SRT which is a non surgical treatment with 99% success with 5 year follow up. Get to know Rheumatologist Dr. Debra Lynn Bailey, who serves the population of Naples, Florida. Dr. Bailey completed her undergraduate degree with Iowa State University where she graduated with distinction with a Bachelors of Science. She then obtained her medical Degree form the University of Iowa College of Medicine. She then completed her dermatology residency with the University of Cincinnati where she was named Chief Resident. Wanting to further to training she then completed her Internal Medicine fellowship with the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics followed by her Pediatric Dermatology fellowship Children’s Hospital, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has also completed Laser Training with the Jewish Hospital, under Dr. Leon Goldman, pioneer in laser treatment for the skin. Dr. Bailey is Certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology, and is Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support. To stay up to date in her field she remains a professional member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Medical Association, Maryland Dermatology Society, Washington, D.C. Dermatologic Society, Florida Medical Association, Collier County Medical Society, National Psoriasis Foundation, and Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.
